About us

Our guiding principle:

A stay that does you good

Our aim:

Our guest should experience a true break from everyday life - and take the beneficial effects of our hotel & services home with them. Whether they are here to relax, be active, or dedicate their time to well-being or to their partner, we want our guests to leave the Deltapark with a smile on their faces - and to look forward to returning as soon as possible.

Arrive- exhale- swich off

The Deltapark Vitalresort on Lake Thun impresses with its unique location, the harmony with the surrounding nature, its holistic wellness and health offer and the variety of restaurants as well as leisure facilities.

In May 2016, the resort on Lake Thun was opened. On the 70,000 m2 property, directly on the lake, surrounded by beautiful nature and adjacent to a nature reserve, guests experience active relaxation, enjoyment and well-being.

"Arrive, exhale, switch off - a stay that does you good" is the philosophy of director Mirco Plozza and his team. The Deltapark brand stands for distinctive and unique landmarks of the region: the Kander delta, the Niesen with its delta shape and the three tent-shaped buildings on the grounds of the Deltapark Vital Resort. But the uniquely beautifully situated resort is also based on another delta: the delta of the "Well-Being", of health and joie de vivre, of vitality. With the three pillars of relaxation, movement and enjoyment, Deltapark offers a healthier everyday life. Time and space to leave hectic behind, to take time out, to enjoy; nature and paths to promote sports and fun, to discover new things, to fill the lungs with pure mountain air; food and drink from the region, fresh and as natural as possible; good for body and soul.

Whether guests come to Deltapark to meet, learn, relax or improve their performance, leave stress behind, escape from everyday life - the resort team helps everyone to achieve their goal individually.

The history of the Deltapark began in the thirties

The history of the deltapark as a place dedicated to mental and physical well-being began in 1930, when Ms Lisel Moser searched for a suitable place to host camps and meetings for the youth of the reformed church. Over the years, and with a great deal of personal commitment, she transformed the lakeside farming estate first into the "Reformed Church Residence", and later intothe "GWATT Center". The center continued to grow: in 1945 the "Schlifhaus" was built, the three "Zelthäuser" were added in the 60s, and the central building called the "Gwattstern" appeared twenty years later. The youth camp gradually developed into a modern seminar and hotel budiness. As the focus changed, the church (which by then owend the business) realised that they were lacking the means and kow-how to run such an organisation. in 2008, the GWATT Center was sold to the Hauenstein Hotels and the Klinik Schönberg AG (part of Hauenstein Holdings), and a comprehensive renovation project and concept including a modern resort operation began to take shape. After eight years of planning and construction, the Deltapark was completed in May 2016 - giving the site in Gwatt a completely new splendour.

The Deltapark Vitalresort is a member hotel of the Hauenstein Hotels Group.
